About HVCA

The Hawaii Venture Capital Association was founded in 1988 to serve as the nexus for entrepreneurship, capital formation and networking. We seek to foster entrepreneurial development through education and exposure to quality speakers and members of our business community. HVCA is a 501 (c) 6 business club which allows us to take a stand on issues critical to developing the technology economy in Hawaii. We work with the Legislature to develop bills and policies to encourage capital formation and help entrepreneurs succeed.

On the fourth Thursday of every month we have a networking luncheon at the Plaza Club where members and guests hear from a keynote speaker and have the chance to network with investors, service providers and other business men and women. We also conduct special half day events with our sister organization, ThinkTech Hawaii. HVCA members can also participate with our other allied partners on their events. Join our mailing list and become a friend of HVCA to make sure you hear about all the great things that HVCA and our allied organizations have planned. Check out the Alliances tab for a list of organizations and links to their web sites.

HVCA also hosts the Entrepreneur of the Year award ceremony in November and the Venture Capital Deal of The Year award ceremony in January, where entrepreneurs and companies are honored for their achievements and for raising capital for their companies.

HVCA provides mentors, coaches and judges for various entrepreneurial events such as the Hawaii High School Business Competition and the University of Hawaii Shidler Business School Business Plan Competition.

Among other HVCA alliances is Hawaii Angels, a statewide network of angel investors.

We meet at the Plaza Club in downtown Honolulu in the Pioneer Plaza Building. This newly renovated state-of-the-art facility is a wonderful venue for our events. We offer a fabulous buffet as part of our luncheon meetings, so come hungry. Aloha business attire is requested by the club. Our meetings are open to the public and anyone can participate with us. To receive notices of meetings and events please join our mailing list and become a friend of HVCA.
